Why Elation Group Chose Plungie

When evaluating pool alternatives, Woods recalls the key features that made Plungie the perfect fit for this showstopping, 5-bedroom home.

“One was the size of a pre-cast pool and the ease of using a pre-cast pool.”

At 6m x 3m, the Plungie Max is the world’s largest monolithic pre-cast concrete swimming pool. With 4m²  bench space, the Max offered this luxurious home ample room for swimming and lounging. 

What’s more, a pre-cast Plungie can be installed over 74% faster than a traditional pool, making it an efficient choice for the Bordeaux project.

“The second reason was that we could choose a bold colour like Mediterranean Blue to tie in with the rest of the striking features of our project.”

This exclusive ecoFinish colour was the perfect complement to key features of the home including the black, marble outdoor kitchen and dark timber cabinetry.

How Did The Plungie Installation Process Measure Up?

The benefits of working with Plungie went well beyond aesthetics for Woods. Elation Group is committed to constructing homes efficiently with a precise scheduling approach. The ease and speed of Plungie’s installation process was therefore a huge positive, helping Woods and his team to deliver the project on time. 

“The impact of choosing a Plungie as opposed to a traditional pool build was the speed at which we were able to progress through the pool build phase…”

In particular, Plungie reduced the number of trades required on-site, which simplified the process and minimised the risk of project delays.

“The install process of a Plungie pool was so easy… the pool comes pre-plumbed — we don’t have to worry about getting a pool plumber in and then someone to come in and shotcrete the concrete and then a tiler later on.” 

The option to add a construction cover to the Plungie was another advantage for Woods as it allowed his team to continue working safely on-site after the pool had been craned into place.

“[Plungie offered] safety on-site being that we’re able to put a construction cover straight on top of the pool…people were able to work around the pool and on top of the pool during the project.” 

Exceptional customer service from the Plungie team also ensured Woods’ first Plungie install went smoothly.

“Plungie have been incredible to deal with throughout the project. They’ve always been available, whether it be through email, phone, through our rep — they’ve always been contactable and more than happy to help in any way.”

The finished Bordeaux project offers the very best of outdoor living, with an alfresco dining space that flows seamlessly into the pool area. The Plungie Max has proven a perfect fit for the backyard, leaving plenty of lawn space for kids or pets to play on.

“Using a Plungie has been absolutely fantastic. This is the first project we’ve done it on, but we’re already in the design phase for some new builds coming up and we’re incorporating Plungies into those.”
