1. Choose your Plungie

With four versatile pool models, choosing your Plungie could be the hardest part of the whole process. We have clear specifications for the Arena, Studio, Original and Max to help you decide which model is right for your project. With our BIM content library, including Autocad, Archicad and Revit, professionals can also easily specify a Plungie into their project.  

Take the time to consider the following factors, as they may impact your choice: 

• Placement — where do you want the Plungie? Is there easy site access?
• Installation depth — do you want the pool in-ground, above-ground or semi-recessed?
• Finishings — will you need fencing ferrules and waterline tile provisions?
• Extras — which equipment package or heat pump will best suit your Plungie?

2. Standard building approval

Next, certification must be submitted to the local council, or via a private certifier. To make life easy, we’ll supply you with a pre-engineered specifications package that covers the pool shell and prescribed standard footings.

We’ll also provide an engineering compliance certificate for your state or territory. Helpful, right? You can then submit the proposed pool plan along with your general building approvals.

3. Basic Site Preparation

Complete site preparation in accordance with our standardised engineering requirements, as per your specific site classification. 

All site preparation should be completed in accordance with our Engineering Set & the Plungie Install Guide. 

4. Crane Hire

A crane is required to lift the pool from our delivery truck and place it onto the concrete base slab footing. Every Plungie is delivered with the required M20 or M24 lifting swivels (depending on which model you choose).

Ease of access to the property heavily impacts this process, making it one of the most variable factors in the installation. We recommend installing your Plungie at the vacant lot or slab stage to make this step as easy as possible.

Most reputable crane hire companies offer a free site assessment and can provide you with a quote based on our lifting guides. 

5. Electrical + back fill

A trade-qualified electrician must earth your Plungie to direct any harmful electrical currents to the ground and away from the pool. One of the external M20 or M24 ferrules can be used to tap an earthing wire via an M20 or M24 bolt.

If your Plungie is installed in-ground or semi-recessed, you will also need to backfill the over-excavated area. Low-cost options such as recycled drainage gravel will do the trick and allow for drainage away from the concrete footing. 

6. Standard plumb up

Plungie is designed to be a plug and play solution that can be up and running within hours. Every pool is supplied with its primary plumbing fixtures pre-fitted, including skimmer box, hydrostatic valve and filtration returns. You’ll need to ensure that the required power provisions are made available for your chosen equipment package to run on. 

7. Finishings + surrounds

With Plungie, you can enjoy all the efficiencies of prefabrication without compromising on design. There are so many ways to customise your Plungie to help it align with your project:

• Coping tiles
• Waterline tiles
• Fencing
• Decking
• Paving
• Landscaping

If you choose to add a construction cover to your Plungie, ensure it remains fitted while you complete this step.

8. Fill + start up

Although, you’ll want to dive straight in, it’s vital that you install the hydrostatic valve and complete final certification and inspection before filling your Plungie. 

It will take anywhere between 6-12 hours to fill a Plungie with a garden hose or as little as 15 minutes if you engage a local water delivery service.
