Rick and Tayla’s layered backyard flows from the home down to their 6m x 3m Plungie Max, creating distinct spaces for entertaining, swimming and slowing down.

Rather than filling the pool level with lounging furniture, a dining setting turns it into another social hub – made for post-swim snacks, sunset drinks, a game of cards or a morning coffee overlooking Mount Eliza.

A Poolside Hub

Continuing Tayla’s love affair with green, a statement waterline tile brings just the right amount of colour to their Max.

Set against the Kona Coast ecoFinish, warm timber decking and neutral styling, the tile adds personality without overwhelming the space – tying beautifully into the natural landscape beyond.

Made for Sunny Days

With its crisp white tone, Kona Coast gives the water that fresh, light turquoise appearance and helps bounce light throughout the pool area when the sun hits.

Add poolside loungers, uninterrupted views and plenty of room for the whole family, and it’s the kind of outdoor space that makes everyday life feel a little more like a holiday.

We asked Rick & Tayla a few questions about their Plungie experience on The Block, here's what they said...

What inspired the look and feel of your outdoor space?

"Light, white, bright - costal vibes and FRESHNESS! Cool, calm and collected."

Were you there for the install? What was it like seeing the pool go in?

"Dad and I were both right there filming when the epic Plungie pools were being craned in, and we were in absolute AWE and excitement."

How did you choose your pool finish, and how did it shape your tiling, decking, furniture and planting?

"Loved how our coping tile matched the colour of the pool we chose and also tied into the travertine we had throughout the home!"

Did anything surprise you along the way?

"I’m surprised how freaking excited I am - I’ve realised I am potentially going to HAVE MY OWN PLUNGIE POOL if we win (hehe)."

Are you happy with how it all came together? Do you have a favourite detail?

"Favourite detail is the fact you can choose the colour of the Plungie interior, and the fact that it makes a huge difference in the pool - which is cool! Also loved, loved loved how it came together, and thankfully I got my fave tile to finish off the epic Plungie pool waterline! Even though it hardly needed it because was beautiful as is!"

If you could do it all again, would you change anything?

"Would change the fact that Chantelle 'accidentally' used my pool waterline time on her pool! Grrrr" 😆
