Project Name: The Block 2026 | House 3
Blockheads: Lisa and Rosco
Landscaper: DB Horticulture
Plungie is proud to be the official Pool Supplier of The Block 2026.
Lisa and Rosco continued their alternative coastal aesthetic outdoors, swapping the expected bright blue pool for something with a little more drama.
Their 6m x 3m Plungie Max, finished in Perle Noire ecoFinish, creates a deep, moody centrepiece against the warmth of the timber deck surrounds - echoing the darker finishes used throughout their home and giving House 3 a look all its own.

Key project elements
Letting the Pool Do the Talking
With the dark pool making a statement, the surrounding styling was kept beautifully simple. Warm timber, crisp white accents and pared-back landscaping provide contrast without competing for attention.
Semi-recessed into the expansive deck, the Max sits naturally at the centre of the outdoor space, with the home opening directly into the pool area for effortless indoor-outdoor living – and views out across the Mornington Peninsula beyond.
Room For the Whole Crew
Designed for a home that can welcome a crowd, Lisa and Rosco made sure there was a poolside spot for everyone too.
Loungers for soaking up the sun, comfy chairs for a morning coffee, an umbrella for shade and a round daybed tucked into the corner - all create plenty of ways to enjoy the space.
And when it’s time to cool off? The Max is ready for the whole family to jump in!
We asked Lisa & Rosco a few questions about their Plungie experience on The Block, here's what they said...
"We love the Plungie pool so much!"
What inspired the look and feel of your outdoor space?
"We wanted to create an immersive, day spa inspired space that felt deeply connected to nature, while being equipped with luxury amenity.
Our darker Plungie pool was a considered choice that adds depth and a point of difference from the rest, while complementing the stunning outlook beyond our fence line. It’s a space designed for everything from memorable gatherings with family and friends to quieter moments of reflection healing or health promotion."
Were you there for the install? What was it like seeing the pool go in?
"Seeing our Plungie pool installed was incredible! One moment we had a giant hole in the ground and moments later, the pool was in position and ready to be decked.
It gave us so much confidence that when it comes time to install a pool at our own home shortly, Plungie would absolutely be our choice."
How did you choose your pool finish, and how did it shape your tiling, decking, furniture and planting?
"The darker Plungie finish was an easy decision. We wanted to create a rich, luxurious day spa feel and the deeper tones worked beautifully with our vision for a native coastal inspired landscape.
We paired it with simple travertine coping and red gum timber decking, allowing the natural textures and contrasting tones to complement the pool and create a space that invites you in to relax, unwind and embrace the natural beauty and wildlife surrounding us."
What else did you consider when you were designing the space?
"Safety and functionality were always at the forefront of our design concept, particularly with children and pets in mind. We deliberately separated the pool from our dining areas and ensured it wasn’t a thoroughfare between the front and back yard.
We also wanted the space to work beyond the warmer months, incorporating sheltered dining areas so we could enjoy the outdoor setting year-round. Lastly we wanted plenty of space around the pool to allow for lounge around the pool in the sun."
Did anything surprise you along the way?
"The biggest surprise was just how quickly our Plungie pool went from a hole in the ground to being installed and ready for decking.
It was incredible to see such a significant feature come together so efficiently, giving our build team the perfect foundation to bring the rest of the space to life."
Are you happy with how it all came together? Do you have a favourite detail?
"We couldn’t be happier with how our pool space came together. Our favourite detail is undoubtedly the darker Plungie pool colour scheme, in contrast with the dark timber and travertine edging.
It creates such an immersive, luxurious day spa feel and sets our space apart, while tying beautifully into our vision for a natural, coastal inspired landscape."
If you could do it all again, would you change anything?
"We wouldn’t change a thing. Every decision was intentional, particularly the layout which prioritised safety while still allowing us to create a beautiful, functional outdoor retreat.
While we received some judging criticism around the separation of the dining and pool area, our approach reflects our belief that safety should always come first, especially with little family members enjoying the space with us."
