Plungie and The Block’s match made in renovation heaven was rekindled during the backyard reveals on this week’s episode.
Once again named the official and exclusive pool supplier of The Block, here at Plungie we were over the moon to be able to work with The Block and its contestants again.
The Block 2024 and its couples have a lot to live up to after the class of ’23 turned in some truly stunning backyard projects.
Luckily, with the help of Plungie, they’ve delivered in spades to create some of the most memorable and eye-catching backyards in The Block’s 20-season history.
Backyard Week is one of the most important weeks on The Block and it’s no surprise that last year’s winners of the show, Steph and Gian, were deemed to have the best backyard with a stunning Plungie.
If the pressure of Backyard Week wasn’t enough, the special location of The Block 2024 also threw up some construction curveballs for the five competing couples.
To mark The Block’s 20th anniversary, the show set up shop on the stunning Phillip Island for this season. Being set on an island, the water levels of the land, as well as the soil type, meant there were a number of challenges that needed to be overcome.
These site conditions meant that all pools had to be installed either semi-recessed or fully above ground.
Luckily for the contestants, Plungie were ready to help mitigate these installation restrictions with our versatile install types, while also offering stylish pool options and ecoFinish colours.
Keen to see just how each team made the most of Plungie’s versatile install and ecoFinish options to take their backyard projects to the next level? The Block 2024 Backyard reveals are below! Let’s dive in!
Install type: Above ground
Finish: Kona Coast

Super sister duo, Maddy and Charlotte, took a Studio sized Plungie with the sleek Kona Coast ecoFinish and installed it above ground.
They decided to add a beautiful custom sandstone exterior, that seamlessly transitions to wooden decking. This decking extends all the way through to the main outdoor entertaining area, creating a tasteful walkway to their above ground Plungie.
Like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, guests only need to follow the walkway to find the perfect place for an afternoon dip – a Plungie.
Install type: Above ground
Finish: Mediterranean Blue
Size: Studio
What’s better than a deck? A deck with a pool. What’s better than a deck with a pool? A deck with a Plungie.
Husband and wife team Courtney and Grant got the memo and made the most of Plungie’s seamless above ground installation, elevating their pool as the focal point of their outdoor deck area.
Complete with a stunning Mediterranean interior ecoFinish, Courtney and Grant installed their Plungie Studio so it shines as one of the main features of their entire backyard project.
The deep blue of their Plungie’s ecoFinish plays off the white backdrop of their house perfectly, putting the whole pool area up in proverbial lights.

Fan favourites Ricky and Haydn seem to enjoy taking things to the max. Particularly their Plungie!
The boys settled on a semi-recessed Plungie Max which they then seamlessly integrated into an above ground deck to give the feel of an in the ground installation.
The lighter Kona Coast ecoFinish makes the whole project pop against the rich mahogany of the decking and ensures the pool is the centrepiece of the area and the whole backyard.
Finishing the whole pool area with a glass fence and tasteful cutaway stairs, Ricky and Haydn have created a designated pool area for fun and relaxation.
Install type: Semi-recessed
Finish: Perle Noire
Size: Max
Proving you can never have enough Plungie, Kylie and Brad also opted for the versatile Plungie Max.
Showing that big doesn’t always have to be bold, the parents from Far North Queensland went with a semi-recessed install, with a garden on one side and decked walkway on the other, creating a low key and tranquil backyard space.
Kylie and Brad have also shown off the versatility of the Perle Noir ecoFinish interior. This is an exclusive ecoFinish colour that is available by request and was supplied to Kylie and Brad to pair with the dark tones of their house.
They paired the cool tones of the exclusive Perle Noire ecoFinish with a sleek custom grey brick exterior to really accentuate the relaxation vibes radiating from this project.
Despite having four children, their backyard has huge “keep the kids at home” vibes. You won’t find any inflatable toys or floatation devices strewn on the gorgeous rustic decking. Just two sun lounges overlooking this semi-recessed Plungie showing that this backyard is the ideal set up for a couple’s getaway.

Last but not least are viral power couple Kristian and Mimi and their eye-catching backyard.
Proving a semi-recessed installation can shine without being completely surrounded by decking, Kristian and Mimi have ensured the Plungie itself is the star of the show here.
A gorgeous mosaic exterior, paired with the Sahara Sand ecoFinish ensures all eyes will be on this Plungie for those strolling through the backyard. We dare you to try and look away from the outside tiling which makes their already eye-catching Plungie pop even more.
Will this stunning combo be enough to secure Kristian and Mimi the title of best backyard on The Block 2024? Or will one of the other teams claim the honour? There’s only one way to find out! Make sure to keep watching The Block 2024!
